Overview of the role:Assemble control panels and control systems to meet the clients requirements for functionality and quality. To be skilled in reading schematic drawings to assemble piping and instrumentation pieces. Work on electrical and mechanical components that are designed as a power point for operating electronic or technological equipment. To work with mechanical and electrical engineers in problem-solving solutions as it relates to the assembly process and the functioning of the panels and components. Also install the completed product or panel on a clients site.Key responsibilities: Work as part of a project team with specific duties of assembly and debugging on special purpose industrial piping and instrumentation systems. Assemble install and test control panels and machine wiring to detailed mechanical drawings. Assist in the production of technical files and Lifetime records for control panels. Carry out full mechanical testing including witness testing of control panels. Produce red pen mark-up drawings and using AutoCAD produce as-built drawings. Communicate with Project Engineers / Managers regarding any related requirements or changes which require action. Produce Bill of Materials and produce quotations. Ensure calibrations of control panels or test equipment is carried out successfully. Carry out and maintain workshop equipment inspections. Inspect mechanical systems equipment and components to identify hazards defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes Test systems for flow pressure and integrity ensuring high levels of compliance. Plan layout and installation of piping and instrumentation designs.
