Interim Systems Accountant

Not-for-Profit organisation based in Havant, Hampshire, has an opportunity for an Interim Systems Accountant to support the implementation, maintenance and optimisation of the financial management system.
What will the interim Systems Accountant role involve?Reporting to the Head of Finance, the key responsibilities of the interim Systems Accountant role will include:
- Supporting the implementation of new financial management system, including needs assessment, configuration, and customisation and understanding the organisation's financial processes and requirements;
- Review data, cleansing and transferring of the existing financial data into the new system, ensuring accuracy and completeness;
- Integrating the financial management system with other relevant systems.
- Performing comprehensive testing to ensure the system functions correctly and meets all requirements;
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including user manuals and training materials for reference and future training purposes;
- Support the setup of the system to align with the organisation's chart of accounts, reporting structures, and workflow processes;
- Providing ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to users as they begin using the new system including user training and support to ensure staff members can effectively utilise the financial management systems.
Suitable Candidate for the interim Systems Accountant position:
- Applicants for the position will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification with proven experience in implementing and managing financial management systems;
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes and excellent analytical and problem solving skills will be essential to undertake the role successfully as will effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organisation;
- Must be immediately available or on short notice.
Additional benefits and information for the interim Systems Accountant position:
- It is expected the role will be for a period of 3 months initially.
- The role will be offered on a hybrid working basis with the successful applicant expected to attend the office 3 days a week.
