The firm delivers high-quality legal advice across a range of practice areas and values a collaborative culture, commercial thinking, and professional integrity.Title: Senior Associate – Commercial Litigation Qualification: England & Wales Qualified Solicitor (6+ years PQE or equivalent) Team: Commercial Litigation Reports to: PartnerRole overviewThis firm are in the market for a Commercial Litigation Senior Associate to provide high-quality litigation advice and representation to the firm’s clients, and support development of the commercial litigation practice.Area of work / typical mattersThe litigation team acts on complex commercial disputes in senior courts and on cross-border matters. Typical instructions include (but are not limited to):Disputes arising from commercial contractsShareholder and joint-venture disputesWarranty and fraud-related litigationMisrepresentation and misappropriation claimsAsset recovery and protection measuresProfessional negligence and insolvency-related disputesIntellectual property disputes (trade mark, copyright, passing off, etc.)Competition litigation, including follow-on claimsCommercial agency disputesThe role also involves advising clients (including institutional investors, corporate entities and high-net-worth individuals) on complex, high-value disputes with financial institutions and other sophisticated counterparties, covering matters such as:Mis-selling and misconduct claimsBreach of duties and contractual disputesContentious restructurings and trustee disputesStructured finance and related disputesResponsibilitiesDeliver excellent legal advice and representation across the litigation spectrum.Support partners in supervising and developing junior lawyers, trainees and paralegals.Contribute to business development and practice growth.Complete administrative and file management tasks as required for private practice work.Candidate Requirements Excellent academic background and strong technical litigation ability, ideally with experience at a reputable firm.England & Wales Qualified (or in depth experience practicing within the UK)Effective team player with strong client-facing skills.Commercially minded and proactive, with an interest in helping develop the practice.Clear logical thinker able to analyse complex legal and factual matters and explain them in plain commercial terms.Strong drafting and presentation skills (e.g., pre-action letters, concise written advice, instructions to counsel, court bundles and settlement documentation).Able to prioritise, manage own workload and work independently with appropriate supervision.Adaptable and resilient, with excellent attention to detail and a “can-do” attitude.If you are interested in this positon and would like to hear more, please apply or contact chloe.graham@ssq.com
