Overview:

Igloo Thermo Logistics is a national temperature-controlled distribution company operating across three depots in the UK. Nationally we run over 125 vehicles ranging from sprinters to arctics. Across the three depots, we employ over 150 employees and complete over 5,000 deliveries per week.

We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to join our Luton depot at our 20,000 sqft Head Office site.

 

Job details:

Role: Warehouse Manager - Full Time, Permanent

Hours; 13:30-22:00 – Monday to Friday

Location: Luton – LU2 9NY – Depot based.

Salary: £40,000


Job summary:

·        Plan and manage a team of 8 x warehouse staff plus the managing and maintaining of site facilities.


Major duties & responsibilities:

  • Motivating, leading, and engaging with all immediate team members to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the depot’s warehouse operations.
  • Ensure all site facilities are maintained and kept to audit standards.

·        Plan, manage and control labour usage to achieve budget productivity levels and financial spend.

·        Manage the holiday calendar, process all holiday requests, and always ensure departmental cover.

·        Shift preparation planning for future shifts, with reference to forecast/actual volumes, holidays, and any long-term absence.

·        Managing Health and Safety within the warehouse.

·        Maintain time and attendance information ensuring accuracy.

·        Manage absence through the set procedures i.e., RTW interviews.

·        Action or plan any disciplinary/grievance issues according to the set time limits.

·        Ensure full KPIs are met.

·        Always ensure full audit readiness.

·        Touring the warehouse each day/night, reporting cleanliness and tidiness.

·        Ensure that staff are trained and competent to conduct tasks assigned to them and manage underperformance.

·        Ensure all assessments/appraisals are conducted on all staff on a six-monthly basis.

Qualifications:

  • Operational management experience in a distribution warehouse environment.
  • Ability to be flexible, adapt to changes to meet the demands of the business and those placed on Igloo by our customers.
  • A collaborator, who works effectively and proactively with the team, building positive working relationships.
  • Able to organise and prioritise workloads in a high-pressured environment.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels either internally or externally.
  • Innovative, forward thinking, able to think ‘outside the box’ and generate new opportunities for improvement.

Technical competencies:

·        Knowledge of working to Health & Safety standards.

·        Proficient level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office.

·        Aware of all current and pending industry legislation and developments.
