NES are proud to be exclusively working with a client based in the far north, who are after a Project Engineer to support the construction of a new processing facility. An exciting new frontier, our client has completed a demonstration plant, proving concept of their processing technology, and are now ready to push forward with the first stage of construction of their phase 1 plant.
Reporting to the Project Manager and commencing in early 2025, you will provide support with the design, construction and commissioning activities. You will have experience in a similar capacity, supporting industrial plant projects, with strong on-site delivery competency. Due to the nature of the processing plant, experience with projects from the Oil & Gas or Chemical manufacturing industries would be ideal.
We are open to candidates across NZ; however, it is a requirement to relocate to the far north for this position. The site is based 10km north of Kaitaia, and while this is remote, it is in one of the most stunning parts of New Zealand, with beautiful beaches and outstanding fishing, this will appeal to someone seeking a bit of adventure.
General responsibilities:
- Support and understudy the Project Manager
- Take leadership of site organisation and site supervision of project working, including supporting contractors and progress reporting.
- Interpret relevant drawings, specifications, process, construction and consenting information in support of project design, construction and commissioning.
- Act as a Clerk of Works establishing and carrying out strong materials handling, tracking, receipting and storage processes.
- At least 5-10 years Project Engineering experience ideally from within Oil & Gas, Mining or Chemical Manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record of working on projects from design phase through construction.
- Experience assisting with projected related activities, dealing with consultants, contractors and general documentation control.
- Leadership skills that can be developed and grow with the project.
- A go getter looking to make their mark on an innovative project, genuinely interested in new technology and do not mind working in a remote part of New Zealand.
