We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of designing and developing high-performance mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies used in demanding environments.---------------------------------------- What youll be doing as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:Designing precision mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept through to productionCreating detailed 3D CAD models and drawings to BS8888, including application of GD&TPerforming hand calculations and FEA to validate both dynamic and static systemsDelivering feasibility studies, cost estimates and timing plans, and presenting designs at key project stagesIntegrating mechanical systems with electronics, working closely with cross-functional teamsLiaising with suppliers to ensure robust, cost-effective manufacture of parts and assembliesSupporting DFMEA and continuous improvement activities across design and development processesProviding technical guidance, mentoring and leadership to other engineers in the teamAssisting with design of test rigs and interpreting validation results to drive design improvements---------------------------------------- What were looking for in a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or related engineering disciplineSignificant experience designing complex moving mechanical systems (e.g. gearboxes, actuators, powertrain systems, rotating machinery, turbomachinery)Strong CAD (SolidWorks or similar) and PLM experience, with a record of delivering full life-cycle designsAbility to apply hand calculations and FEA to inform and validate design decisionsKnowledge of materials selection and a range of manufacturing techniques (machined, moulded, fabricated etc.)Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary and international teamsOrganised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment---------------------------------------- Whats on offerCompetitive salary and discretionary annual bonusPrivate healthcare for you and your familyLife assuranceEnhanced Pension SchemeExtensive training and career development opportunitiesFlexible working arrangements and international travel opportunities---------------------------------------- If you want to push the boundaries of mechanical design and work on complex, high-performance systems, wed love to hear from you.
