About the role:

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Sales Engineer to join our team and develop existing and new business. As Sales Engineer you will be responsible for promoting and selling the company’s products and services to multiple industries in the UK. The role requires a strong understanding of technical products and their applications and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and prospects.

The ideal candidate will have experience in customer relations typically in the sales capacity. You will be able to identify business needs and requirements to promote our company's technical solutions. You will ultimately be able to operate at all levels from discussing technical solutions, to leading customer presentations and working with our marketing department in arranging our presence at conferences, exhibitions, and seminars.

You will lead Sales, working with existing customers and resellers, and build new contacts in new sectors and new territories. You’ll report directly to the MD and organise your time effectively to get the best results. The goal is to contribute to sustained growth of our business to achieve long-term success.

Requirements:

  • 2 + years sales engineer experience in a similar role
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent time management skill and attention to detail
  • Outgoing and friendly attitude
  • Background in Sales / Engineering, Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing (or similar)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Field Sales - Previous eexperience as a Sales Engineer with a good balance between technical understanding and sales.
  • Excellent negotiating and relationship building skills.
  • Technically aware, able to communicate technical products to clients
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships.
  • Ability in problem-solving and negotiation
  • Degree or formal education / experience in engineering-related subject
  • Willing to travel, mainly in North West area of the UK
  • Have a full UK driving licence

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Sales Engineer will be responsible for increasing presence in both new and existing markets, developing client relationships, and identifying business opportunities.
  • Manage and grow the territory by building a full sales pipeline.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of our products, customer-needs and requirements.
  • Build long term relationships with our clients to ensure their loyalty to our products and services.
  • Understanding customers’ needs and selling with a technical solution led approach.
  • Attending client meetings, to build relationships, communicate technical solutions and negotiate.
  • Maintaining market and competitor knowledge.
  • Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships.
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to ensure resolution and to maintain trust and develop the relationship.
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics and the CRM system.
