Technical Infrastructure Support – Data Backup & DAMS Support

This is a 12-month fixed-term salaried contract, with opportunities for full-time or part-time work arrangements.

Location: Duxford, Cambridgeshire. On-premises.

Technical Infrastructure Support Key Skills:

We seek individuals with strong technical support knowledge, particularly in hardware and software for high-end workstations and Windows Server environments. We are keen to connect with technical infrastructure support specialists; IT support engineers, network administrators, and other professionals experienced in IT infrastructure and data management.

To excel in this position, you must possess many of the following:

  • Experience supporting and managing top-end PC workstations and Windows Servers.
  • Knowledge and working experience with NAS, SAN, Fibre Channel connections, and LAN/WAN.
  • A broad understanding of image, sound, and video file formats.
  • On-site 1st and 2nd line technical support expertise.
  • Ability to support processes managing large data flows between workstations, NAS, and long-term storage.
  • Capability in supporting and managing Veeam data backup infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with best practices in backup procedures, including using backup technologies and software such as Backup Exec.

About the Technical Infrastructure Support position:

You will be a crucial IT and AV Services team member tasked with maintaining and supporting the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) and associated IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing first and second-line technical support on-site.
  • Managing the flow of large data volumes from workstations to long-term storage.
  • Managing and supporting the Veeam data backup infrastructure.
  • Supporting the infrastructure elements of the DAMS.
  • Ensuring timely resolution of incidents using the IT Service Desk.
  • Offering technical support for network operating systems and IP protocols.
  • Conducting IT security patching and updates.
  • Assisting in the development of business continuity plans.

This role promises a stimulating environment with varied and challenging responsibilities.

This is a 12-month fixed-term salaried contract, offering both full-time and part-time options to suit different working preferences.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: £40-44,000Location: Duxford, CambridgeshireWork arrangement: Hybrid. Four days in the office and one day working from home.
