Desian Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the Wirral. This is a full-time position working within the school’s dedicated KS2 SEND provision, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.About the RoleAs a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:Work within a small, collaborative team to support KS2 pupils with varied SEND, including Autism and ADHDProvide both group and 1:1 support as requiredHelp create an inclusive, nurturing and structured learning environmentAssist with tailored interventions and personalised support plansBuild positive, trusting relationships with pupils to help them engage and progressWhat We're Looking ForCandidates must have:Previous experience supporting children or young people with SENDConfidence working with pupils who have Autism, ADHD, or similar needsThe ability to collaborate effectively with the SEND team and wider school staffPatience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s developmentStrong communication skills and a proactive, supportive approachWe also welcome applicants from related sectors such as children’s residential support, youth work, or care backgrounds who can bring transferable skills to the role.
