Procurement and SCM Assistant Manager Ref: VN077 London, UK
The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Procurement and SCM Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be part of our facilities management business that oversees work for leading organisations across the public and private sectors around the world. You will report into UK based central procurement & SCM function. The role is a hybrid working arrangement with some travel requirements to Client's office.
Main Responsibilities
- Strategic procurement, including sourcing, selecting, and negotiating with suppliers, SRM, developing our supplier programme, spend analysis etc.
- Assisting with procurement tendering/RFX and mobilisation activities.
- Assisting with supply chain mobilisation, stabilisation, and transformation phases of a new account life cycle.
- Supplier on-boarding via our procurement platform. Liaising with other gateway owners to progress i.e. operations, QHSE, and finance teams.
- Supporting ethical and sustainable procurement, including social value, supplier, tackling modern slavery, etc.
- Assisting with supply chain governance, risk, and compliance, apply Macro SCM playbook/manual processes and procedures.
- Managing the contract register, supplier directory, and SharePoint portal.
- Assisting with drafting procurement and contractual documents.
- Monitoring, reviewing, and reporting supplier performance statistics.
- Maintaining existing templates, workflows, and user profiles.
- Amending process maps, activity guides, and uploading templates as directed by the team.
- Working closely with procurement and cross functional teams.
- Keeping abreast of best practice and regulations within the industry.
- Maintaining a network of contacts within the industry from which supplier information can be gained.
- Managing and ensuring communication of SCM best practice to the wider business.
The ideal candidate will have:
- An articulate and self-motivated procurement and supply-chain professional with subject matter expertise and experience specifically within the Facility Management (FM) arena.
- CIPS qualification or training towards it and membership in a relevant professional institution. A related degree qualification is a strong advantage.
- Strong commercial acumen and training or experience in contract law and/or contract formulation is a distinct advantage.
- Digitally savvy and have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in the MS Office suite including Power Point, Outlook etc. Experience with PowerBI, Sharepoint and procurement platforms is a strong advantage.
- Diligent and analytical with good organisation and planning skills.
- Good negotiation skills, excellent written and oral communication, and good presentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, remotely, and flexibly and embraces multiculturalism.
- Strong supplier network within the facilities marketplace and experience in ESG initiatives is a distinct advantage.
