Stock Controller

A new role opened up due to expansion within the business. Our client is open to seeing candidates who are either highly or experienced OR a graduate with at least 2 years post experience within a similar role.


Job Duties:

  • Oversee daily fleet operations on-site, coordinating with all departments to ensure needs are met and production remains uninterrupted.
  • Develop and manage processes to maintain smooth and safe vehicle operations, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Assess and recommend new equipment purchases, justify these investments to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor fleet expenditure, make decisions based on long-term financial projections, and present cost-saving strategies.
  • Analyze fuel and fleet usage, implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate closely with the maintenance team to schedule and resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous operation.
  • Support the Transport Manager by collecting daily information and adjusting the site transport plan as needed.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in material planning, production planning, or logistics coordination.
  • Effective communication skills across various departments.
  • Background in engineering, manufacturing, or construction is advantageous.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to information gathering.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Interest in learning site operations to understand departmental needs thoroughly.
  • Safety and quality-driven mindset.
  • Familiarity with industrial vehicles and relevant legislation is preferable.
  • IPAF and IOSH certifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Degree level qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
