Responsibilities:

  • Execute a wide range of painting and decorating tasks, including preparing surfaces, applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Perform plastering tasks to prepare and repair walls before painting.
  • Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance on surfaces and structures prior to painting or plastering.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment to perform tasks meticulously.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Manage the procurement and delivery of paints, wallpapers, and other necessary materials.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations while performing tasks.
  • Respond quickly to any required touch-ups, redecoration, or repairs for existing structures.
  • Maintain regular communication with project managers, clients, and team members.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours call-out roster as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a painter decorator or in similar roles, including multi-trading skills.
  • Expertise in a variety of painting, decorating, and plastering techniques.
  • Knowledge of different materials and products used in the trade.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools related to painting, decorating, and plastering.
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings and plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good time management skills, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
  • Must have a valid UK driver's license.

Position Details:

  • Full-time position: 42.5 hours per week.
  • Company vehicle provided.
  • 21 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus the period between Christmas and New Year off when the business is closed. Additional leave can be accrued with long service.
