Capenhurst, United Kingdom EA Technology Full time

EA Technology is a global, independent provider of end-to-end power engineering solutions, supporting customers in managing and operating electrical networks. We are recognised as a world-leading expert in our field, enabling our customers to manage their electricity networks more efficiently with fewer failures and outages, greater safety and lower costs.

At EA Technology, we’re more than just a business; we’re a forward-thinking company where creativity and innovation drive everything we do. Our core values Contribution, Integrity, Creativity, Collaboration and Fairness are at the heart of our culture. They ensure that employee wellbeing is always a top priority and we empower our people to do their best work with autonomy and flexibility.

If you're looking for your next career move in Quality Assurance or you’re already an experienced Head of QA ready for a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you. At EA Technology, every person plays a critical role in shaping our success and we’re proud that so many of our people choose to stay with us long-term.

About the role:

VisNet Monitoring is one of EA Technology’s fastest growing businesses. Its award winning hardware and software products are scaling rapidly, to provide visibility, insights and restore power to substations across the UK and beyond.

In this role, you will oversee the entire QA function across the VisNet Monitoring business. Responsible for the strategic direction, vision and overall management of the QA department.

  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
  • Lead a team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance, training and performance management.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the organisation and implement strategies for continuous quality enhancement.
  • Drive innovation in quality assurance practices and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality into all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Establish and measure processes to address product regulatory and certification standards.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including policies, procedures and audits.
  • Manage risk by identifying potential quality issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions

What we’ll need from you:

  • Engineering background, with QA experience of having led quality processes in a hardware and software environment. Hardware is essential.
  • Responsible for aligning QA activities with the strategic goals and objectives of the business.
  • Experience influencing product development and release processes to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience working with products where accuracy and reliability are critical and errors could necessitate a product recall. Proven experience working within a regulated environment, with a strong understanding of navigating and adhering to ISO standards and similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing processes and policies aimed at driving and maintaining high-quality standards across products and operations.
  • A proven ability to build strong relationships and gain buy-in across teams by fostering collaboration and trust with the ability to also influence and inspire teams to prioritise quality rather than enforcing compliance in a way that adds unnecessary burden.
  • A hands-on approach, actively working alongside teams to implement solutions and ensure quality, rather than simply providing recommendations or reports
  • Engineering degree would be advantageous, but not essential

What we can offer you:

At EA Technology, we believe in growing with our people. In addition to a great working environment, we offer you:

Competitive industry salary, plus a company performance bonus.

Career development opportunities: We offer genuine pathways for growth within our company.

Work-life balance: With flexible working options, we support our employees in balancing their professional and personal lives.

Holidays: 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, with an extra day for every three years completed (up to a maximum of 30 days). Ability to buy an additional 5 days.

Pension contributions of 8% from the employer (or cash equivalent).

Comprehensive benefits, including Group Life Insurance, Income Protection, and Critical Illness cover (or cash equivalents).

Private Medical Insurance (single cover or cash equivalent).

A truly collaborative and supportive work environment where amazing colleagues inspire each other every day.
