Do you want to be part of how the UK’s largest conservation charity delivers its urban ambition to address unequal access to nature, beauty and history across Greater Manchester?
We’d love to hear from you if you have experience of programming creative interventions, working in partnerships, engaging urban communities and collaborative ways of working inspired by green spaces and heritage.
What it's like to work here:
Reporting to the Cultural Programming Project Manager, you’ll be part of Manchester’s Urban Team.
We are passionate people with big ambitions, value creativity and diversity and want to work with others to make things happen.
The Castlefield Viaduct sky garden opened in July 2022, a new green space in a city centre environment. Castlefield Viaduct and Manchester’s Urban Team work closely together with local communities to deliver programming, events and community engagement both on the viaduct and across Greater Manchester.
Part of Festival of Blossom, you’ll support the Bloomtown programme that aims to co-create blossom focused activities and programming with others in the places and spaces where they live, work, study and play across Manchester, Trafford and Salford.
What you'll be doing:
We’re looking for someone to support our plans and ambitions. This role will develop and deliver nature focused, creative and cultural activities with diverse audiences across Greater Manchester and bring the urban programme to life.
You’ll work with the wider team and our community partners, other organisations and volunteers at sites including parks and community gardens.
You’ll co-ordinate key packages of work, lead administration processes, help measure our impact and share learnings.
A hybrid role working at the Manchester hub, at home and at sites across Greater Manchester. You’ll be happy to travel and able to work some weekends and evenings.
Who we're looking for -
To deliver this role successfully, you'll need:
- strong organisational and administrative skills e.g. budget management, keeping and updating records, meeting deadlines
- great people and communication skills, establishing positive relationships with both external and internal collaborators
- the ability to work independently as well as with a team, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and productive place for staff and volunteers
- to be able to balance competing priorities and demands
- experience in delivering learning programmes and events and/or working with community or commercial partners to deliver events and activities
- understanding of an audience-led approach and the ability to evaluate the impact and use feedback to further develop an offer or event
- to be someone creative, ambitious and able to draw creative ideas from their team
The package:
The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
