About The Role
  • Job Title: Shift Engineer (nights)
  • Shift: 7pm - 7am, 3 nights on, 4 nights off (plus two floating shifts every 4 weeks
The role:You will provide a full engineering support service to all areas of the business, aiming to minimise machine and equipment downtime and maximise preventative maintenance.Key focus areas:
  • Minimise machine downtime
  • Prevent manufacturing lost time
  • Achievement of the Preventative Maintenance Plan
  • To be audit ready at all times – relevant paperwork and quality audits completed
  • To be generating continuous improvement ideas
Engineering operates a 24/6 cover, working on 3 days on 4 days off rota with banked hours principle.You will have experience of working as a Maintenance Engineer within a production environment - preferably food processing, and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of manufacturing processes. You'll need to use both your electrical and mechanical engineering experience in this role.You'll be a used to planning PPM, and you'll understand the importance of this. As you'd expect, there will also be reactive work, so you'll need to be adaptable - a natural, hands on problem solver will thrive in this role. You'll be comfortable recording reports and work logs onto our system - so computer literacy is also important.Ideally you will have (or be working towards) the following qualifications:
  • BTECH/ONC qualification as a minimum in either Electrical or Mechanical discipline or Multi skilled engineering qualification or C&G 2330 Level 3 Electro – technical certificate combined with NVQ 3 Electrical Maintenance
  • Time served apprentice
  • Multi-skilled Engineer
  • HNC level in electrical, mechanical or production maintenance engineering
