Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electronics Controls Engineer to join our client's dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising electronic control systems for various applications. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the development of efficient, reliable, and innovative control solutions that meet customer and project requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

Control System Design:

  • Design and develop electronic control systems for products and machinery, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety.

Embedded Systems Development:

  • Develop, program, and test embedded systems, including microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs, and other programmable logic devices.

Circuit Design and Analysis:

  • Design analog and digital circuits for control systems, including schematic capture, simulation, and PCB layout.

Sensor and Actuator Integration:

  • Integrate sensors, actuators, and other hardware components into control systems, ensuring seamless communication and functionality.

Software Development:

  • Develop control algorithms and software for real-time applications using languages such as C, C++, Python, or MATLAB.

Testing and Validation:

  • Perform simulations, prototyping, and testing to validate system performance and troubleshoot issues. Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing when necessary.

System Optimization:

  • Analyze and improve control system performance, reliability, and efficiency. Provide recommendations for system upgrades and enhancements.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software) and departments (manufacturing, quality, etc.) to ensure successful project delivery.

Documentation:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, test reports, and user manuals.

Compliance:

  • Ensure all control systems meet industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in designing and developing control systems in an industrial, automotive, aerospace, or related field.
  • Experience with embedded systems, analog/digital circuit design, and programming microcontrollers.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in control systems theory and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded programming languages (C, C++, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g., Altium, Eagle).
  • Hands-on experience with testing and debugging tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., CAN, I2C, SPI).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certifications in relevant areas like Control Systems Engineering, Embedded Systems, or similar would be an asset.
