Working closely with senior business leaders, you will provide commercial insight, strengthen market presence, and influence strategic decision-making that supports future expansion.This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about advancing the future of sustainable infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic DevelopmentDevelop and implement a business development strategy aligned with organisational goals and sector prioritiesResearch market trends, competitive activity, and new sector opportunitiesSupport long-term planning and diversification into emerging marketsLead marketing and branding initiatives, managing relationships with external marketing partnersClient & Stakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and external industry partnersRepresent the organisation at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forumsCapture and analyse client feedback to drive continual service improvementOpportunity & Bid ManagementLead pre-qualification, tender, and bid submissions in collaboration with engineering teamsProduce impactful proposals, presentations, and promotional materialsManage and track business development pipelines, reporting on performance and forecasted growthInternal CollaborationWork closely with directors and senior engineers to align commercial strategy with delivery capabilityProvide guidance to internal teams on client engagement and marketing best practiceQualifications & ExperienceQualification in Civil Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)Proven business development experience within engineering consultancy, infrastructure, or construction sectorsStrong negotiation and stakeholder management skillsFamiliarity with CRM tools and commercial reporting platforms (desirable)Personal AttributesProactive, strategic thinker with a commercial mindsetClear and confident communicator across all levelsHighly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyPassionate about sustainable engineering and the future of infrastructureKey SkillsStrong initiative, problem solving, and "can-do" approachAbility to build relationships quickly, both virtually and in personCompetent using Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Skilled at working within hybrid teams and delivering to deadlinesWhy JoinBe part of a collaborative consultancy with a strong and growing industry reputationWork on exciting infrastructure projects that create meaningful environmental and social impactCompetitive salary, professional development opportunities, and clear progression pathwaysFlexible working arrangements to support work-life balanceIf you feel you are up for a challenge... applyAldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
