When you join us as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor youll benefit from:Competitive salary5* housebuilder - Be part of a company that consistently delivers quality homes and outstanding customer satisfactionLife Cover & Contributory PensionBonusEmployee Benefits Platform giving you access to high-street discounts wellbeing support and moreCommitted to diversity inclusion and empowering your developmentWhat is the roleThe purpose of the role is to be responsible for supporting Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors in their commercial management duties.What youll do as a Trainee Quantity SurveyorUndertaking administrative duties to support the teamRaising pre-agreed ordersReviewing subcontractor matricesManaging the simpler payment and simpler aspects of loading budgetsTo primarily be responsible for at least 3 sites of varying complexity whilst setting up budgets producing bi-monthly valuations appointing subcontractors and making subcontractor payments to maintain close cost control and enable management decisionsEnsure weekly and monthly payments are processed efficiently any disputed items are resolved allowing site works to proceed unhindered and give an accurate picture of site financial statusHelp produce site valuations on a bi-monthly basis and present to the Board of Directors to indicate any variation from budgeted figuresUndertake negotiations to obtain the optimum rates for sub-contract appointments to maximise marginsUtilise the Persimmon Group COINS system to set up new sites and establish budget predicting site profitability for financial planning verificationLiaison with other departments on time to ensure sites run efficiently (Construction Sales Customer Care Accounts)Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Groups Health Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughout the team to promote safety in the way we build projectsWhat experience do I needPrevious construction surveying related experience would be desirable but not essentialFull UK driving license is advantageousExperience within the house building industry is desirableUnderstanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelinesExcellent communication skills both written and verbalFully conversant with Microsoft Package including Excel and WordFamiliar with balance sheets profit and loss accounts and business plans Required Experience:Intern Key Skills Data Center Experience,Google Docs,Cost Management,Construction Estimating,Construction Experience,Management Experience,Land Surveying,Microsoft Excel,Team Management,Auto Estimating,Contracts,Google Suite Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
