This is an excellent opportunity to work at the heart of Parliament supporting a long-standing Labour MP with a strong record of advocating for her constituents and local businesses.The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting Marshas parliamentary work for Battersea as well as her responsibilities as Chair of the PPA and in her role as Second Church Estates Commissioner.This is a senior position requiring sound political judgement exceptional organisational skills and a detailed understanding of how Parliament operates. The postholder will ensure Marsha is fully briefed strategically supported and represented effectively across her wide-ranging portfolio of work.Key responsibilities will include:Oversee the running of the Westminster office; including line management of other staff as directed.Providing high-quality research and written briefings across a broad range of issues.Drafting speeches press releases articles and parliamentary questions.Accompanying Marsha to meetings and events and attending on her behalf when required.Maintaining an overview of ongoing parliamentary business committees campaigns and developments relevant to Marshas priorities.Managing the coordination and follow-up of meetings ensuring timely and accurate completion of agreed actions.Liaising with stakeholders government departments and parliamentary bodies on Marshas behalf.Supporting the delivery of Marshas external roles including preparation of materials correspondence and reports.Working collaboratively with colleagues in the constituency office to ensure alignment between parliamentary and constituency priorities.Person specification:Significant Parliamentary experience and a thorough understanding of House of Commons procedures.Excellent political judgement and the ability to anticipate issues advise confidently and act with discretion.Strong written and oral communication skills with proven experience drafting speeches and briefings for senior figures.Ability to coordinate across multiple workstreams prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proactive organised and able to work independently with minimal supervision.A collaborative and positive approach with the confidence to represent the MP in meetings.Commitment to the aims and values of the Labour Party.Benefits:Salary within IPSA pay-scales dependent on experienceGenerous employer contribution pension schemeAccess to training and professional development opportunitiesEmployee Assistance ProgrammeUpon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office.
