Social Media Editor (Maternity Cover)


We are seeking an exceptional Social Media Editor to join the Maybourne PR & Communications team.

The Social Media Editor is an exciting new role in the dynamic and fast paced Communications team. This role is a unique opportunity for an energetic, creative individual to work for Maybourne and therefore across some of the world’s most iconic hotels.


As a Social Media Editor you will be supporting the Global Head of Communications, the Social Media Editor across all Maybourne properties with a focus on hotels mainly located in London, creating an exciting content in addition to managing the social media communities and achieve growth across our channels.


Main responsibilities of the Social Media Editor role include but are not limited to:


  • Manage dedicated social media pages with a seasonal calendar, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and other social media platforms. This will be supported by Social Media Executive and overall Communications team.
  • Develop and execute strategy plans to coincide with the Communications strategy eg: Christmas Tree launches, retail etc.
  • You will lead on engagement with followers – responses to comments and messages – always keeping in mind the tone of each hotel with the support of the Social Media Coordinator.
  • You will be alert to any adverse comment and flag to the wider team in order to maintain the positive online reputation of the hotels.
  • You will keep a close eye on the social media landscape particularly within the luxury industries, applying knowledge to ensure that our approach is always fresh.
  • Reporting on follower growth across all channels, working with the Digital Marketing team on their wider analysis.
  • Staying familiar with current consumer trends and new social networks and tools to come up with innovative content ideas.
  • You will generate compelling and engaging social media content and manage a fast-paced and reactive schedule of regular updates.
  • Lead on content creation from beginning-to-end from capturing imagery yourself, to working with photographers on larger shoots. To produce content in line with the respective tones and personalities of each hotel which will inspire and compel followers.
  • Work with the Communications Team to create content plans whilst also having the instinct for spontaneous posts and capturing of ‘moments’.
  • Continual liaison with the various departments across the hotel - eg Events and Kitchen - in order to identify opportunities for content.
  • Ensure key events are supported through social media.
  • Live posting and post event content to allow followers to feel as if they were there.
  • Support the Communications team with influencer work helping to build relevant relationships for each hotel.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry influencers

  • Monitor social trends and trending audio to support social media campaigns.

  • Have a high standard of personal presentation with confident, professional and welcoming personality.
