Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Software Engineer with a strong background in automotive systems, J1939 protocol, and electrical and electronics engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in writing system-level requirements and will play a critical role in the development and integration of advanced automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • System-Level Requirement Development:
  • Develop and document detailed system-level requirements for automotive systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of the end-user needs and system functionality.
  • Automotive Systems Engineering:
  • Design, develop, and validate automotive software and systems, focusing on functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Implement and optimize communication protocols, specifically J1939, for vehicle networks.
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering:
  • Work with electrical and electronics engineering teams to integrate software solutions with hardware components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware-software integration, ensuring robust and reliable system performance.
  • Software Development and Testing:
  • Write and maintain high-quality, efficient, and well-documented code for automotive applications.
  • Conduct software testing and validation to ensure compliance with system requirements and industry standards.
  • Use simulation tools and real-time testing environments to validate system performance.
  • Project Collaboration and Management:
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept through to production.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in automotive technologies and software development methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance system performance and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on automotive systems.
  • Proven experience with J1939 protocol and automotive network communications.
  • Strong background in electrical and electronics engineering principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and managing system-level requirements.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or similar.
  • Experience with software development tools and environments (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, CANoe, CANalyzer).
  • Solid understanding of automotive standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications in automotive systems engineering, software development, or project management.
  • Certification in J1939 protocol or related automotive communication standards.
  • Additional Experience:
  • Experience with model-based development (MBD) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
  • Knowledge of other automotive protocols such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, etc.
