Job Purpose

In this exciting and varied role, within our growing Income Generation department, you will be part of the core team responsible for building up the Charity’s special events portfolio, predominantly overseeing and developing the golf series, as well as other designated special and challenge events to maximise support and increase income.


In undertaking this work, you will always need to be one step ahead with excellent relationship management skills. You will be organised and have proven project management skills, confident in solving problems and securing financial targets, and take a creative and collaborative approach to deliver outstanding events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering the management of an agreed programme of special and challenge events across the UK
  • Creating budgets and plans, meeting financial and non-financial targets, and leading on projects, where necessary
  • Helping to identify new event opportunities
  • Building collaborative relationships with internal teams and development of the stewardship journey for our supporters
  • Working with Marketing and Communications team to produce appropriate fundraising materials and maximise public relations
  • Representing the Charity at fundraising meetings, presentations and events
  • Cultivating and recruiting new and existing supporters and volunteers to participate in a range of events
  • Managing volunteers for both challenge and special events, as necessary
  • Managing and recording communications and event information, identifying issues and suggesting solutions, as necessary
  • Developing effective relationships with third party event providers, to build our profile, and identify suitable events plans
  • Developing opportunities for corporate engagement and sponsorship
  • Developing a network of leads that can provide gifts in kind to reduce expenditure on events
  • Arranging and conducting tours of Ronald McDonald Houses for existing and potential donors
