It’s a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves improving performance, solving tricky problems, and keeping everything in top shape.What you’ll be doing as a Senior SQL Database Administrator:Managing, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databasesSupporting Azure PaaS databases, including Azure SQL and Managed InstancesHandling backups, restores, and recovery modelsImplementing and maintaining High Availability and Disaster RecoveryTroubleshooting connection issues across servers, firewalls, proxies, and networksCarrying out performance tuning and optimisation to keep systems running at their bestAdvising on and reworking existing databases to boost efficiency and cut costsOverseeing database access and security patch managementMigrating SQL data from on-premise SQL Server to Azure SQL using Data Migration toolsCreating and maintaining scripts using SQLCMD and PowerShellWhat we’re looking for:Solid experience working as a Senior SQL Database Administrator or in a similar senior-level roleHands-on experience with database server security patchingStrong knowledge of Azure SQL Data Warehouse and ETL or data pipelines (ADF)Good understanding of database access managementConfident with SQL Server Administration, performance tuning and optimisationExperience with backups, restores, and recovery modelsKnowledge of HA and DR solutionsAbility to support Azure PaaS environmentsExperience migrating SQL dataStrong troubleshooting skills, especially around networking issuesScripting experience with SQLCMD and PowerShellIt would be a bonus if you have SQL certifications, or experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Azure SQL Data Warehouse.If you’re a Senior SQL Database Administrator who enjoys working in a friendly, busy IT environment and wants a role where you can genuinely make your mark, we’d like to hear from you.
