Planning and Highways Lawyer

We are working with a Local Authority in the Lancashire Region looking for a Planning and Highways Lawyer to join their department for an initial 3-month period.

 

The successful candidate must be UK qualified and have upwards of 12 months’ experience in:

  • Planning law matters
  • Highways experience is essential

 

Expertise in dealing with a wide range of matters including:

  • Drafting and advising in respect of S.106 agreements, S.38 and S.278 agreements Dealing with planning enforcement and planning appeal matters Reviewing and advising upon Development Control Committee reports Attending meetings of members, officers and/or external bodies to advise on legal issues, governance and procedure

 

You will need to have experience of handling your own legal caseload.

 

The Council offers a remote working environment for this assignment. Previous planning legal experience in a local authority is essential.

 

Pay rate is between £50-60 per hour.

 

The local authority is looking for a candidate to start as soon as possible. Due to the urgent nature of the role, we are looking to speak to candidates available on no more than 2 weeks’ notice.
