7twenty Professional Search are delighted to have been exclusively retained by a specialist manufacturer of thermoplastic road marking materials. Our client has been operating for 40 years and due to continued growth, they are seeking to appoint a Laboratory Manager for their production facility in Northern Ireland. The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the overall co-ordination of day-to-day activities in the laboratory and lead an established team who conduct complex chemical analysis of raw materials, finished products & environmental samples ensuring compliance with relative protocols. Working closely with the sales and production teams, the successful candidate will design and develop reliable testing methodologies ensuring product quality and safety, thus ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results through strict quality control procedures and maintenance of required equipment. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills alongside the following experience: Significant experience at a management level in a laboratory, formulation testing or chemical coating environment. Demonstrable experience of successfully developing and introducing new products in a manufacturing environment Experience of utilising Stage-gated processes for product development plans and extensive understanding of quality control principles and practices Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Engineering related field In addition to the experience listed above knowledge of industry testing standards and European and British regulatory landscape will be advantageous.
