About the companyGreat opportunity for an Architect with experience of designing and building Data Platforms to join a leading FinTech business in Manchester at the beginning of a major modernisation of its data landscape.The business is investing heavily in next-generation cloud and data capabilities, with a strong commitment to best-in-class governance, innovation, and secure data access across the organisation.About the teamYou’ll join an established Data Platform team delivering strategic solutions using an agile approach.Built on a modern cloud estate with Snowflake and Azure at its core, the team is expanding its capabilities to meet wide-ranging business needs.You’ll collaborate across architecture, engineering, and business domains, contributing to the organisation’s enterprise-wide architecture vision.About the roleAs Data Platform Architect, you’ll have real autonomy and will work across 5 squads of 40 people in total to help shape and evolve the architectural roadmap for a rapidly scaling data platform.This is a player coach role, so although it has a strategic focus, you should also be comfortable collaborating with engineering teams and being hands-on to help build out POCs.Required skillsProven experience architecting and scaling Snowflake-based data platforms in AzureStrong understanding of modern data architectures (Data Mesh, Fabric, Lakehouse, ELT)Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DCAM)Hands-on IaC experience in Azure (Terraform)CI/CD pipeline implementationStrong communicator with experience in agile, cross-functional deliveryExcellent problem-solving, autonomy, and commitment to engineering best practiceCollaborative mindset and continuous-learning approachDesiredFinancial services or regulated-industry exposureDocker / SnowparkStreaming tech (Kafka, Event Hub)Collibra integrationPython proficiencyIn returnIn return, they’re offering a fantastic package including £100k salary plus 10% bonus, 9% pension, LTIP and hybrid working (3 days per week from their city centre office).If you're interested and would like to know more, please apply through this advert and I'll be in touch.
