About the company:

We are supporting a growing fashion brand based in central Manchester, with a great social media presence offering a broad, commercial, Accountant role in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis and preparing accurate financial statements.
  • Participating in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
  • Providing financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
  • Assisting with the implementation and improvement of financial systems and controls.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Overseeing payroll processes using Sage Payroll and maintaining employee records.
  • Managing day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborating with external auditors and assisting with year-end audits.

Skills/Qualifications required:

  • Proven experience as an accountant or similar role, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry.
  • Proficiency in using Sage50 and Sage Payroll software.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) is desirable but not essential.
