The Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA) is an international trade association that represents the world’s leading technology and communications companies.The Senior Manager will support the Association’s presence in the United Kingdom at a crucial time for the digital sector. The candidate will be a visible leader in the UK tech industry and a strong advocate for our sector. In particular, they will be expected to support the association’s external engagement with Parliament and the press on topics that matter to the sector, particularly the policy implications of AI.This contract position will report to CCIA’s Senior Director in the UK and will be supported by colleagues in the United States and the European Union.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Building relationships with relevant stakeholders in the UK policy-making community, particularly in Parliament and the pressAdvocating CCIA’s policy position in specific fields of UK tech policy and regulation within that community, particularly around the policy implications of AICommunicating with member companies regarding policy and regulatory developmentsCommunicating CCIA positions to the public, including in media and public forumsOrganising eventsIdentifying and coordinating alliances with other relevant stakeholders to advance CCIA positionsQualifications:Complete fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communications skills is requiredAt least 5 years of relevant work experience related to UK policy, e.g. government, politics, parliament, think tank, trade association, journalism, consultancy, or a tech companyA Bachelor’s degree, and ideally also a Master's degree, in a relevant topic, e.g. law or politicsA good understanding of UK tech regulationEstablished network amongst policymakers and the mediaFamiliarity with the services and business models of CCIA member companiesA strong communicator and user of communication tools, e.g. social mediaHave the legal right to work in the UKPossess strong interpersonal skillsBe driven and a self-starterBe passionate about the benefits of technology and its potential to be a force for goodEnjoy working in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work with fellow staff to achieve the best possible outcomesSalary: Commensurate with experience.
