Based upon our continued success in infrastructure and future growth plans, we have identified the need for a new Regional Director who will lead infrastructure operations in the Midlands and North of England, support and co-ordinate existing activities and drive our expansion, increasing growth and profitability whilst building strong relationships.

As Regional Director, you will have demonstrable experience of leading major infrastructure projects and managing teams of people. You will be supported by a diverse team that cover all aspects of programme management, project management and cost management.

You will have a track record in winning and delivering new work, particularly in the infrastructure sectors, and be responsible for identifying opportunities for new work with our sector leads.


This role will be based in our Manchester office with regular trips to other UK locations.


The role of a Regional Director includes the following responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering a long-term strategy and vision for the success and growth of the business within the area of responsibility in conjunction with sector leads.
  • Developing expertise across the wide range of disciplines within the area of responsibility.
  • Leading a step change in service capability and delivery to meet area of responsibility requirements.
  • Delivering growth in turnover and profits with target clients.
  • Taking responsibility for profit and loss within the area of responsibility.
  • Establishing a best-in-class service provision and delivery capability.
  • Recruiting, developing and leading a team towards achievement of the long-term strategy, ensuring projects have appropriate resources and expertise.
  • Liaising with sector leads and offices to create new opportunities.
  • Ensuring project fees and budgets are adhered to, with robust contract and project change control processes to ensure Client approvals are in place to facilitate monthly invoicing.
  • Contributing to the development of the annual budgets in collaboration with Sector Leads.
  • Developing Client relationships to maximise the potential of frameworks.
  • Assisting in the resolution of any disputes including the recovery of outstanding fees that are due.
  • Managing the delivery of work through proactive involvement where appropriate and thorough performance management of personnel to ensure work is completed in a timely manner to a high-quality standard.
  • Providing leadership to the staff and where required, resolve conflicts of priorities and personalities.
  • Approving training plans to ensure succession planning and career development takes place.
  • Mentoring team members, ensuring that staff and new starters are developed to support the successful growth of the Practice and development of their career.
  • Ensuring service delivery is in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company, particularly Health & Safety and Quality Assurance.
  • Ensuring communication is clear with staff understanding key priorities and company goals.
  • Ensuring compliance with client’s corporate governance procedures where applicable.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree qualified: construction, cost management, engineering or quantity surveying.
  • Membership of a recognised professional body.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral, written and presenting.
  • Strong core technical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and an aptitude for forward planning.
  • Experience of managing people and delivering multiple or complex projects.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry issues.

Interview 1 - Face-to-Face meeting to discuss experience and background

Interview 2 - Task/Presentation from a provided brief and Q&A
