This is a full-time, long-term Maternity Cover Year 5 Teacher opportunity, open to ECTs and experienced Teachers. Year 5 Teacher required to start from December 2024, with the potential of Permanent posting.

This is progressive 1-form entry Primary School in Waltham Forest is looking for an exceptional Year 5 Teacher to join in December 2024 and hit the ground running. You must have excellent behaviour management and the drive to help make a difference in a community led Primary School. The Year 5 group is well known for being hard working with excellent behaviour and delight to teacher. Based close by to Walthamstow tube station, the school is easily accessible by public transport and car. Year 5 Teacher will need to be:

  • An excellent Year 5 Teacher with a proven record of raising achievement.
  • Resourceful, innovative and able to embrace change.
  • Have exceptional Behaviour management with the ability to inspire your students.
  • Have the knowledge and expertise to enthuse your colleagues.
  • You must have QTS and an excellent academic background.
  • A teacher who is committed to personal and professional development.

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be in line with the School Mission Statement, to be responsible for the welfare and education of a designated group of pupils in accordance with the requirements of the National curriculum, the school's aims, objectives and schemes of work and any policies of the Governing Body.

Year 5 Teacher Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out teaching duties in accordance with the school's schemes of work, National Curriculum and designated subject areas.
  • Liaise with colleagues to deliver units of work in a collaborative way in accordance with the School Development Plan.
  • Work with teaching assistants, the SENCO and the inclusion team.
  • Set challenging targets for pupil attainment levels.
  • Be an exemplar teacher.
  • Share in the responsibility for the well-being and discipline of all pupils.
