We offer a high level of training to support continuous professional development and to deliver a broad range of interventions including established accredited group work programmes. We are implementing Trauma Informed Care Safe & Together and Restorative Justice practice models and interventions across our services.An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are looking to recruit two Team Leaders to join our Justice Practice Team and CISSO Crane and SAVOLO Team. You will be accountable to the Sector Manager for the management professional oversight and organisation of your team offering an integrated range of social work services in the justice system providing professional leadership support and direct supervision to your team. complex and challenging needsExperience and understanding of the contribution social work services can make in the criminal justice systemsExperience of taking a key role as a manager in multi agency meetings e.g. MAPPA risk management case conferences child and adult protection case conferencesExperience in a leadership role through periods of innovation and/or service developmentExperience in quality assurance and service improvement.Experience of criminal justice social work management (Desirable)Non-criminal justice social work management experience (Desirable)Experience of delivering structured interventions with complex populations individually and in groups (Desirable)Previous experience of leadership in services working with male perpetrators of domestic abuse and/or women and children affected by domestic abuse (Desirable)Knowledge skills and understanding:Understanding and experience of implementing effective social work intervention with individuals in contact with the criminal justice systemKnowledge of Scottish Governments National Outcomes and Standards for Social Work Services in the Criminal Justice system and other key policies and guidelinesKnowledge and understanding of the requirements of the Management of Offenders (Scotland) Act 2005Ability to develop relationships and maintain a boundaried and consistent approach working with and responding to people affected by trauma whilst working to relevant risk assessment and other council policies and proceduresAbility to work closely and in collaboration with a range of agencies and professionals in responding systemically to the risks and needs of women men and childrenDemonstrable leadership skills including a strong ability to contribute to and support others through change including knowledge and understanding of performance management and an ability to implement service improvementsKnowledge of child protection andvulnerable adult processes and proceduresKnowledge and understanding of budgetary managementExcellent reasoning skillsIT skills including the use ofdatabases and reporting tools.Knowledge and understanding of the impact of trauma into adulthood trauma enhanced practice and evidence-based approaches when working with complex trauma survivors (Desirable)Knowledge of the research on effective practice with people involved in offending behaviour (Desirable)Qualifications and training:Social work qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).Registration with SSSCAdherence to the values and principles enshrined in the SSSC Code of PracticeA desire to develop professional knowledge skills and practice through training and continuous professional development opportunitiesPost qualifying training in leadership or working adopting systemic approaches to promote women and childrens safety Understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on women and childrenKnowledge of relevant theories including a gendered analysis of domestic abuse why men abuse women in intimate relationships and the dynamics of power & control in abusive relationshipsKnowledge of the research on effective practice with offenders and effective responses to domestic abuse.Extensive understanding of professional and personal authority how to exercise discretion and how to use it appropriatelyExcellent communication and engagement abilitiesAn ability to establish and maintain working relationships with people accessing servicesAn ability to reflect on practice self others and the organisationAbility to support social workers to assist them in implementing Trauma Informed Care and Safe and Together principles utilising components when they are undertaking assessments interviews documentation and case planning
