Job Description:
As the SOC Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our clients Security Operations Centre. Your primary goal will be to ensure the security and integrity of their infrastructure by managing a team of skilled security analysts, coordinating incident response efforts, and implementing robust security measures. This is a remote role, offering flexibility while demanding a high level of responsibility and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SOC team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOC processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Monitor and analyse security events and incidents, coordinating an effective response to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive security strategies and alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee the development and delivery of regular security reports and metrics to senior management.
- Ensure the SOC is equipped with the latest tools, technologies, and best practices to effectively detect and respond to threats.
- Conduct regular training and simulations to prepare the SOC team for potential security incidents.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and integrate this knowledge into SOC operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Advanced degrees and certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a SOC or cybersecurity management role.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team of security professionals.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, and incident response methodologies.
- Proficiency with SOC tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and vulnerability management systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, demonstrating strong self-motivation and discipline.
