Location: SK4 5DY, Stockport, Greater Manchester, North West, UKFacilities Engineer from a factory manufacturing environment required in Stockport. This is an outstanding opportunity to join an expanding manufacturer, part of a global business operating in the defence industry, supplying equipment to the British military.The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of all facilities and infrastructure across the site. This role ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory standards while supporting continuous and efficient production processes. The Facilities Engineer is committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and productive environment for all employees. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining a comprehensive three-year rolling facilities plan, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, working with a team of support staff, managing vendor partnerships, and coordinating capital projects to enhance facility performance and minimize operational downtime.c£50K + great career prospects and benefits to include:Monday to Thursday: 0700-1530. Friday: 0700-1200Pension: 4% Employee Contribution, 7% Employer ContributionHolidays: 25 days (rising to 28 with service) plus 8 Bank HolidaysSick pay: 4 weeks CSP (rising to 8 weeks with service)Life assurance scheme: 4x Annual SalaryCycle to work schemeFree unreserved on-site parkingWellbeing programme: events, weekly free fresh fruits etcExperience & QualificationsHND/HNC in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent)Knowledge of LOTO, PUWER, and other regulatory requirementsHealth & Safety certification (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHA)Proven experience delivering CapEx programmesPractical knowledge of CMMS and safe contractor controlDesirable (training available):Background in multiskilled engineering or maintenance supervisionCFM, PMP/Prince2, LEAN/Six Sigma, or CEM (ISO5001) certificationsExperience with Agility CMMS, BMS/BAS, or CADFamiliarity with project management tools (e.g. MS Project)Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver a 3-year facilities plan aligned with business goalsLead CapEx projects and manage budgets, procurement, and contractorsOversee facility operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and complianceSupport production teams to minimise downtime and maintain flowEnsure adherence to defence, environmental, and HSE standardsManage vendor relationships and contractor control processes (RAMS, PTW, etc.)Implement preventive maintenance and emergency response programsConduct inspections, risk assessments, and drive cost-saving initiativesDevelop CMMS systems and foster a culture of continuous improvementPrepare reports, RFQs, and risk reviews for managementFull job description available on request.Our client is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
