Mtrecs New Job Opportunity: MTrec Technical are proudly representing a long-standing and innovative manufacturing businessin their search for a Specifications Technologist to join their technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused and compliance-driven individual to step into a vital role within a forward-thinking and supportive environment. Youll play a key part in ensuring all product specifications meet legal, customer, and company standards. This role also involves working closely with labelling, artwork, and technical documentation; essential for maintaining product safety and customer confidence. The Job Youll Do: Create, review, and maintain accurate product specifications using internal and customer systems. Ensure all data is entered correctly, meeting food safety and regulatory requirements. Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve technical queries and support product risk assessments. Review and approve packaging, labelling, and artwork to ensure legal and brand compliance. Stay current with UK and EU food legislation, ensuring company practices remain up to date. Complete customer documentation, including allergen statements, SAQs, and certification applications (e.g. Halal, Kosher, Organic). Support new product development with relevant technical input. Maintain accurate records and support site documentation control processes. About You: Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to data accuracy. Knowledge of, or interest in, food safety, technical compliance, and labelling legislation. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders. Previous experience with specifications systems or customer portals is desirable but not essential.
