Design and Technology plays a vital role in their curriculum and they seek an exceptional leader to further develop and elevate this area.

About the Role:

  • Provide visionary leadership for the Design and Technology department setting the strategic direction and ensuring its continued success.
  • Develop and implement a stimulating and comprehensive curriculum that aligns with national standards and ignites students passion for design and innovation.
  • Lead a dedicated team of Design and Technology teachers providing mentorship and fostering their professional development.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Design and Technology department including budgeting resources and health and safety.
  • Monitor student progress analyze data and implement strategies to continuously improve learning outcomes.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with colleagues across the school to ensure a cohesive learning environment.

We are seeking an individual with:

  • A relevant degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience in Design and Technology ideally within a secondary school setting.
  • Proven leadership experience with a demonstrable track record of driving improvement within a Design and Technology department.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • A passion for design thinking problemsolving and fostering creativity in students.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate young people creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
