The Science Curriculum Area at Priory School occupies eight specialist laboratories and has a full complement of eleven specialist teachers and three Science Technicians. At Key Stage 4 students have a choice of AQA Trilogy Combined Science GCSE and AQA Triple Science. Triple Science is delivered by three specialist teachers with additional curriculum time.
Science is technical and demanding but is also capable of inspiring awe and wonder and we are looking for a teacher who can see beyond the scope of the exam specifications and present science in a wider context to enthuse and inspire students that think creatively whilst maintaining high academic standards.
The Governors wish to appoint a well-qualified, talented, committed and inspiring Teacher of Science, full-time FTE from September 2024.
The successful applicant will:
be committed to high expectations, with the ability to inspire and challenge students develop targeted learning resources to support the diverse make-up of the student body think creativity to present science in imaginative and novel contexts to enthuse the diverse student body have a proven track record of impacting upon students' learning have the ability to teach Science at KS3 and KS4 have a clear understanding of current and future curriculum developments demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills demonstrate the attributes to be a strong form tutor hold Qualified Teacher StatusThe salary grade is Teachers Main/Upper Pay Scale £30,000 to £46,525.
