The Role and the Department

Van Mildert College is a thriving community of 1600 students, plus staff and alumni, led by a small, highly committed team of talented staff. We provide an excellent wider student experience for all our members, including a vibrant enrichment programme and reliable student support.

The role of College Administration Coordinator is essential to the success of the college. The successful candidate will act as assistant to the College Officers and will be responsible for day-to-day operation of the college administration office. You will liaise with key stakeholders, including our students, operations and catering staff, and work alongside other administrative staff in the college office. Together with the rest of the team, you will help create a stimulating, supportive, challenging, welcoming and inclusive community, whose purpose is the personal development of all its members.

The role is based in Van Mildert College, with the usual hours being between 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, there may be some requirement for out of hours working to support College events.

Qualifications/Experience
Five GCSE's at least Grade C or level four (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics or a Post-16 qualification or equivalent experience.Experience of working in a busy office environment delivering front line administrative services to a high standard.Experience of managing time to meet deadlines and working under pressure without compromising on quality.Experience of providing advice and guidance to a range of customers and colleagues.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
Excellent spoken and written communication skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships, both internally and externally.Strong digital competence across a range digital devices and apps including all Microsoft 365 applications.Ability to solve problems yourself and as part of a team and resolve issues, plan solutions and make pragmatic decisions.Committed to continuing professional development.Ability to participate in networks to share and discuss good practice and exchange information.
Desirable Criteria

Knowledge of event-management software, for example, Kinetics Experience of event coordination and management Proficiency building and maintaining SharePoint communication sites Proficiency using design software e.g. Canva Experience of using social media within the workplace to promote the business Experience of organising and minuting meetings Experience of booking travel and accommodation
