Valuer/Trainee Valuer (level 3) (fixed term: 1 year - Maternity Cover)
Central Scotland Valuation Joint Board covers the Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Council areas. The Assessor for the Valuation Joint Board is responsible for compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll for Non-Domestic Rates and the Valuation List for Council Tax. The Assessor is also the Electoral Registration Officer for three Councils (Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire) and in that capacity is responsible for maintaining the Register of Electors and Absent Vote Lists. The Board employs approximately 45 people and our office is at Glendevon House, Castle Business Park, Stirling, FK9 4TZ.
We are looking to recruit a Valuer or Trainee Valuer (level 3) to work within our Valuation Team for a fixed term period of 1 year maternity cover.
Applications are invited from candidates who are members of the RICS or have completed an accredited RICS degree and are ready to commence, or have already started, the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
The successful candidates will be responsible for the survey and measurement of a wide range of property for rating and Council Tax purposes, to carry out valuations as required, to maintain property files and records to a high standard and to communicate effectively with ratepayers, taxpayers and other relevant contacts. The role also involves disposing of appeals and proposals through discussion with taxpayers and their agents.
During the fixed term period the successful candidate will be supported to gain experience in an Assessor’s office and, if required, work towards completing APC competencies.
