Permanent qualified social worker position. The successful candidate will be based within a well-established team delivering a service to adults in the community who have a range of disabilities, mainly learning disability and autism though some physical disability and mental health.

The Adults Assessment and Care management servicer is for people aged 16 to 65, who are resident in West Lothian.

This is an interesting and challenging opportunity for an enthusiastic person to work with a range of individuals who require support to maintain their independence.

The worker must have an ability to work as part of a team, respond to demands of a busy service, be able to follow procedure, have excellent communication and good report writing skills.

These tasks will be carried out in partnership with service users, family members, social work colleagues and other professionals and agencies as necessary to meet need. You will be required to have a good understanding of Self-Directed Support and completing needs led and outcome focused assessments.

The worker will also undertake ASP investigations in accordance with service standards.

You must have the ability to travel throughout West Lothian and hold a recognised qualification in social work and be registered as a social worker with SSSC.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act . From 28 February preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
