Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of schools, colleges, and universities throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.

We are looking for an on-site Premises Manager to join our facilities management team based in a School in Canvey Island SS8 9QS.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team focused on providing an excellent customer experience to our Essex Schools project, the role will manage the team onsite, liaise with our Helpdesk, cleaning and grounds teams ensuring our service is delivered to the highest standards. This role will involve building and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders to deliver the requirements of our customers

You'll:
  • Manage the Onsite Premises team in the provision of a caretaking Service within the school.
  • Comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Health and Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure all COSHH is up to date and liaise the COSHH Co-ordinator with out of date or new requirements.
  • Ensure Water Systems are monitored and maintained within all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Health and Safety legislation, AcopL8 and safe systems of work.
  • Manage and carry out first line investigation / repairs and maintenance and ensure all planned and reactive maintenance is carried out
  • Ensure the smooth operation of all plant, facilities and premises
  • Facilitate the day-to-day management of Sub-contractor activity on site
  • Ensure that all areas within the confines of the site are free from litter and that all drains and gullies are free flowing and clean.
  • Take delivery of stores, materials and other goods and conveying them to their points of distribution
  • Prepare the school premises and site for assemblies, meetings and out of school activities and clearing up after these activities, providing support as required
  • Carry out routine and non-routine opening of premises and grounds.
  • Provide access, where possible, to the premises and classrooms in the event of snow or minor flooding or similar emergency situations
What you'll bring to the role:
  • Excellent customer Service and communications skills
  • Planning and prioritising skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Maintenance or Handyperson experience
  • Pool plant and maintenance experience
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Aptitude to learn new systems and processes.
  • Computer and Mobile devices skills
  • Strong Team player
  • Flexibility
This role will require you to be DBS (CRB) enhanced cleared.
