Hours: 19 hours per week (shifts detailed below)

Contract: Part Time - Permanent, Sessional

Salary: Grade 1

£24, - £24, per annum pro rata (salary subject to pending job evaluation)

West Lothian College is looking to appoint a Catering Assistant.

Working for the college you will benefit from a generous leave entitlement, career average pension scheme, excellent on-site facilities such as gym and restaurant, together with transport, health, family, wellbeing benefits and retail discounts. The college is located within the town centre with an array of shops and restaurants all within a few minutes walking distance.

Working within the college’s Campus Café, you will be required to prepare basic hot and cold snacks, undertake counter and till duties and organise trays for buffets. You will also assist with cleaning and washing up, whilst adhering to food safety regulations.

You will be a team player with excellent communication skills, and possess a good general education. You will be required to either have, or obtain, an elementary food hygiene qualification, whilst previous experience of working in a café environment and knowledge of cash handling is desirable.

The shifts to work are sessional*, as follows:

Monday: 11:15am - 3:00pm

Tuesday - Thursday: 10:45am - 2:30pm

Friday: 9:45am - 1:45pm
