An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for an LGV Driver/Labourer (Skips) to join our Waste Management service on a permanent basis.

NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.

Position Details

Duties include the collection, loading /unloading and transportation of containers (skips, boxes, and compactors) from specified locations to agreed treatment facilities. If no driving duties are available, you will be required to undertake manual labouring duties or the operation of heavy plant & HGV vehicles within the disposal section.

PLEASE NOTE A CATEGORY C LGV LICENCE WITH CPC AND A TACHOGRAPH DRIVER CARD ARE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE. As is experience of vehicle maintenance, routine checks, loading techniques, and manual handling.

Contract Details

Weekly Hours: an average of 37 hours plus 7.5 hours contractual overtime per week

Work Pattern: Monday to Friday

Annual Salary: £22,.65 - £24, on an incremental scale

Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts a non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £2, per annum plus a working context & demand (WCD) payment of £ per annum. You will also receive a contractual overtime payment which is based on the hourly rate of your annual salary, with the contractual overtime hours being processed at the enhanced rate of time and a half.
