We are looking to appoint 2 Teaching Assistants to join our thriving school from 1st September 2024. 

Post 1: Fixed term for one year from 1st September 2024 due to a staffing structure change.
Post 2: Maternity Leave cover, expected to be 1st September to 31st December 2024.

The role is as a Teaching Assistant member of a class Teaching Team, working under the direction of the class teacher and/or other teaching or SEND team. The role involves working both in and out of class, with groups and individuals. You will be supporting learning; social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing, running interventions and working as part of the teaching team to share and develop best practice. The role may include supporting classes across the primary school, or mainly within one class. The role includes lunchtime duties. All our staff have training and support led by our school leadership and SEND team members.

For staff, examples of this are the solution-focussed, happy working relationships – staff feel well-supported and enjoy working at The Beacon. will make a significant contribution to the success of children’s wellbeing and learning;  communicates effectively with a range of audiences and understands the need for non-verbal communication at times; works well in a team, is flexible, organised , works calmly under pressure and has a solution focused approach; demonstrates high expectations of all children’s learning and behaviour; has a proven experience in inspiring, enabling, motivating and empowering children to be independent in their learning; will be involved in preparation, delivery, and assessment of learning and intervention for individuals and groups in classes where they are working; commits to supporting and modelling our school's Vision to ‘live life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10); is willing to fully engage in professional development; knows they make a difference and will go the extra mile to make it happen.

This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
