VESSEL OPERATIONS ENGINEER - CONTRACT - SURREY

 

Our Client, an offshore oil and gas contractor, is currently looking for a Vessel Operations Engineer to join their team based in Surrey.

 

As a Vessel Operations Engineer, you will be joining a global leader in engineering, procurement, construction, and installation services for the energy industry. With a strong track record of successful projects and a commitment to excellence, we strive to deliver innovative solutions to our clients. 

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Candidates must have experience working as a Vessel Operations Engineer within the offshore oil and gas industry.

 

Candidates must have experience in the below job scope and the following key areas:

  • Documentation preparation and review: Working with engineering teams to ensure all necessary documentation for vessel operations is prepared, shared, and reviewed.
  • Procurement management: Overseeing the procurement of essential items required for project execution.
  • Project requirements and interface management: Coordinating with vessel teams and ASSETs departments to meet project requirements and ensure marine spread readiness.
  • Offshore operations coordination: Collaborating with onshore PMT, VMT, OCM, and CLIENT representatives to adhere to CLIENT specifications and the CONTRACTOR installation manual during offshore operations.
  • Technical support and compliance: Providing technical support to OCMs, handling technical queries and change requests, reviewing and approving offshore task plans, and ensuring the availability of correct document revisions on-board.

 

JOB SCOPE

A VOE (vessel operation engineer) is requested to follow the preparation and activities of the MSV. In particular MSV scope will be:

  • Mobilization activities, including wet buckle contingency and pre-commissioning spread preparation onboard.
  • Pre-lay survey
  • Anchor pile installation and support to Castorone for initiation PLET installation (compensation buoy installation and retrieval).
  • Touch down point monitoring during Castorone pipelay campaign (readiness to intervene in case of wet buckle)
  • Support to Castorone for laydown PLET installation (compensation buoy installation and retrieval).
  • Anchor pile removal
  • Pre-commissioning campaign (flooding, cleaning and gauging)
  • Final demob

 

Vessel Operation Engineer duties during project preparation include:

  • Liaising with the engineering team to guarantee all the required documentation is prepared, shared and commented by the vessel crew
  • Follow up of procurement of all the items requested by the vessel for the project execution
  • Interface with vessel team to guarantee project requirements are met
  • Interface with ASSETs dept. to guarantee the marine spread readiness

 

Vessel Operation Engineer duties during offshore operations include:

  • Liaising with the onshore PMT, VMT, OCM and CLIENT representative to ensure that the requirements of CLIENT specifications and the CONTRACTOR installation manual are followed.
  • Assists the OCM in all engineering aspects and advise on project specific items.
  • Completion of onsite technical queries and management of change requests as required during offshore operations.
  • Review and approval of task plans pertaining to pipeline operations which are written offshore, to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
  • Jointly responsible with the QC Coordinator for ensuring the correct revisions of documents are available on-board.

WORK PATTERN:         Hybrid working of 3 days in the office and 2 days working at home.
