We are looking for teachers who are outstanding practitioners or have the potential to be. We need staff who are inspiring and motivating for pupils, able to think about learning and deliver it interestingly and engagingly. 

We have a strong support package for teachers, including joint PPA time giving opportunities to share ideas; and strong, knowledgeable senior leaders who have time out of the classroom to focus on developing teaching and learning.

Your responsibilities

You will:

Applications are welcomed from both ECTs and main-scale experienced teachers.

You will need:

This post would suit applicants who have experience in an educational setting however this is not essential. A GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in both mathematics and English is essential. 

About us

Sidegate is a vibrant three-form entry primary school in the north of Ipswich. The school hosts a 25-place Specialist Support Centre for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, giving approximately 655 pupils on roll. The school boasts large grounds, an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and excellent ICT provision. We pride ourselves in the broad and engaging curriculum we offer our pupils; sport and culture

feature highly and are used to enhance the curriculum in all areas. The school received a “Good” Ofsted rating in October 2022.

Sidegate became an academy in May 2014 with The Active Learning Trust (ALT). ALT allows each of their schools to develop a curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils in the school. They work closely with the school, providing specialist advisory support as necessary. We work closely with other schools in the ALT Ipswich Hub and the Northgate Pyramid of Schools.
