Job summary
We are looking for a well organised and efficient Storekeeper to fill the role in the Clothing Store Garrison Support Unit (BGSU) to provide logistics support. This support covers a wide plethora of areas and functions, but the primary function is to provide support to 11 Signal Regiment. The Clothing Store serves over 1000 service personnel across the Garrison, providing the clothing and safety equipment required for their roles.�
This includes trainees, permanent staff, those deploying on operations and Civil Servants who require safety clothing for their role, a mixed workforce of military and civilian staff. The Clothing Store staff utilise MJDI to demand, issue, receive and exchange items of clothing and equipment, conduct partial and full de-kits for Garrison personnel, maintain Personal Holding Records and ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the Defence Logistic Framework.
The QMs dept are looking for a proactive individual who can work well individually, as well as part of a team, to carry out essential issuing, receipting and exchange of clothing items within the Garrison Clothing Store�
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The key tasks of the Clothing Storekeeper include:�
Providing counter and electronic service for the Garrison Clothing Store, which is conversant with all Material Regulations and Interim Supply Chain Procedures relating to the efficient running of a Clothing Store. This includes assisting the clothing store manager with Op/deployment demands/receipts and safety equipment, ordering through our supplierTransporting, unpacking and receipt of all clothing stores, ensuring that all items received are documented and that they are disposed in the correct location, this includes the responsibility for the packing of clothing stores for disposal in the dispatch bay.Responsible for de-kits and any personal holding� amendments are required.��Ensure that the Clothing Store, including shelving items, is kept in a clean and tidy condition, compliant with H&S legislation.Required to cover for the clothing store manager, ensuring there is continued support across the department during times of leave or sickness.Person specification

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period
Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
