A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic apprentice to join East Suffolk as an Administration Apprentice (Communities).   

Your role  

You will provide administrative and project support to the Community Help Hub team, and East Suffolk’s HAF (Holiday, activity, food) programme. The team provides front line support to some of our districts most vulnerable residents. The team provide a bridge into services and support, with the aim of increasing confidence, feelings of self-worth and motivation, improving communication skills and increasing trust in services. As part of this, you will support referrals, help to organise, and promote events and workshops, and arrange and takes notes at meetings. You will also undertake a variety of general administrative tasks, including dealing with customer queries, scanning, producing letters, reports, presentations, and spreadsheets. The HAF programme provides activities, education, and food during the school holidays for children who receive free school meals. You will with support the organisation, development, and administration of this project.

What you will need

You will need to have an interest in helping communities, particularly to improve their mental and physical health and wellbeing. You will also have a creative approach to problem solving, good organisation skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or grade 4 -9 (or equivalent). No previous administrative experience is required, as full training will be provided.

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding two open evenings at our Melton and Lowestoft offices. This will give you the opportunity to find out more about East Suffolk Council’s apprenticeship scheme, learn more about each of our available opportunities direct from the placement managers and ask any questions you have. The open evenings are taking place on the following dates -

14 May 2024 , 5.30pm – 7 pm at the East Suffolk House offices (Riduna Park, Station Road, Melton, Woodbridge IP12 1RT) 16 May 2024 , 5.30pm – 7 pm at the Riverside Offices (4 Canning Road, Lowestoft, NR33 0EQ)
