As an Asset Maintenance Engineer at HS2 you will be responsible for the Engineering and Technical aspects related to HS2 Track Maintenance and Asset Management. This includes systems and assets for the Route Infrastructure, Network Integrated Control Centre and Hs2 Stations.
The ambition of HS2 Ltd, as the Infrastructure Manager, is to deliver the highest levels of customer experience in order to meet the sponsors performance requirement of an average of 30 seconds (Moving Annual Average) delay per train.
In order to achieve this the Asset Maintenance Engineer must ensure that Track assets are safe, fit for purpose, available for use and reliably enable the train service to run. The system shall be maintained in such a way that maintenance is invisible to HS2 users.
The role sits within the Infrastructure Maintenance team, which forms part of the Infrastructure Manager organisation which is responsible for the Operations and Maintenance of the HS2 Routewide Infrastructure and Stations.
The role during the project stages will entail delivering the technical related aspects of the Track Infrastructure Maintenance and Asset Management 10-year roadmap and project programme to ensure delivery according to time, cost, quality, safety & environmental specifications.
About the role:
- Act as the Track Technical Lead for the Infrastructure Maintenance team.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the Track Asset Management strategies and plans. Standardise the cradle to grave asset management plans ensuring they are technically fit for purpose including the verification of the whole-life asset budgets.
- Lead the management and application of appropriate engineering maintenance regimes in accordance with company policies, standards and specifications.
- Determine, develop and establish the technical and non-technical competencies needed to inspect, maintain, renew and enhance the Hs2 Open Route and Station infrastructures. Verify that the competencies meet the requirements of the HS2 Infrastructure Manager Safety Management System.
- Specify and lead the development of Infrastructure Maintenance technical standards, specifications and work instructions.
- Technically lead the introduction of new processes and systems to deliver operational availability and maintenance standards for a new railway system.
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
About You:
Skills:
- Ability to demonstrate safety leadership
- Project management skills with an understanding of project management principles and application
- Ability to review proposals for the supply of Track assets and systems
- Ability to write or review technical engineering standards, specifications and work instructions
- Ability to review of PQQ and ITT documentation, from a maintenance engineering perspective.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the rail industry and its operations.
- Knowledge of high-speed railway asset management.
Type of experience:
- Experience in leading or working in infrastructure maintenance or engineering teams.
- Experience leading Technical and Engineering teams within a maintenance operation.
