Around since , SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. We have represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for almost years. Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others.

These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change. Salary: £27, - £31, Pay point 25 – Pay point 29

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

We deliver a diverse range of employability interventions including:

Individual Placement and Support (IPS): Co located and integrated within partner agencies such as Community Mental Health Teams or Drug and Alcohol Partnerships. Predominantly working to the IPS delivery model on a 1:1 basis with clients.

Step Up: Delivered in community venues such as community hubs and centres. Predominantly, a flexible delivery model with a mix of group and 1:1 work with clients .

Working in new employability services across East Lothian, you will manage a caseload of clients to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment, and/or other outcomes, as detailed within the Service Level Agreement. You will provide person centred advice and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers, referral and partner agencies.

You will work as part of and in collaboration with support services, maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery.

Experience working in employment services supporting people to obtain or keep workDesirable

Experience/understanding of working with people with mental health problems, or a similar client group within health, social care or the voluntary sectorDesirable

Experience and understanding of mental health and health inequalities and the impact these have on communitiesDesirable

An understanding of the employment needs, and challenges faced by people who experience labour market exclusionDesirable
