Test Engineer

Job Description

This role is one that requires a passion for continuous improvement of product, system and customer knowledge. A Test Engineer takes ownership of managing their own project work items, actively sharing knowledge across the testing community and working closely with the delivery teams to carry out thorough and efficient testing to team processes and testing standards. The Test Engineer creates accurate test plans, and executes against these, ensuring that all challenges and risks are raised and managed to completion. Additionally, they will work with stakeholders to ensure full understanding. For this role, you'll have an eye for detail and be quality focussed, resulting in thorough and well-organised test phases across all of the projects you will work on.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a good level of understanding of the system under test.
• Understand how our customers use the product under test.
• Collaborate on the creation of requirements used for testing artefacts.
• Create and maintain test artefacts that maximise testing efficiency.
• Use appropriate test approaches e.g. Risk based, exploratory, regression, security, usability, accessibility.
• Focussing on quality, work at pace in line with project delivery estimates.
• Develop skills and experience of test automation, resulting in the creation, execution and maintenance of efficient and effective test automation suites.
• Take accountability for all test related activities, accurately recording and communicating bugs, risks and issues found.
• Share knowledge and expertise across the wider testing team and where required coach others to avoid key person dependencies.
• Carry out tasks as directed to meet business needs.
• Seek out and act upon feedback from team members.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement and personal development.
